Invest in a Newborn Photography
If I could encourage you to invest in just one session, it would be a newborn photo shoot. Newborns don't keep. Before you know it, your family will be chasing your little man around and baby-proofing your house.
Let's say you use a budget photography company for two-year photos and your end result is disastrous. You can simply schedule a session with another company and take two-year photos a month later. Not much changes between month 24 and 25 in a child's life.
Let's say you use a budget photographer for newborn photos and your end result is disastrous. Your newborn may no longer be so teeny tiny and beautifully sleepy. Sure, you can still reschedule, but you have missed a window AND you probably are not sleeping ever. At all. No one wants to deal with an additional photo session under those conditions.
Finally, lifestyle newborn sessions often occur in-home. If your home has poor lighting and you booked a budget photographer, there is a good chance you will not be in love with your photos. There many factors at play for in-home lifestyle photography. Make sure you find a photographer you trust with a style you like.
Meanwhile, in Minnesota. . .
Already, this newborn has grow a tremendous amount. Photographing his six month photos this summer was a delight and his mama's maternity dress was TO DIE FOR.
One of my favorite things about being a lifestyle family photographer is following families during this newborn stage and photographing them through multiple milestones. When we transition from multiple lifestyle photo sessions in a year to annual photos, I'm always a little sad. Especially when photos have been in-home. There is something intimate about being in a families home during such precious time. Alas, the children must grow up!
Better late than never, I present this newborn little cutie–
